Minuet Contribution

@Former user (Deleted)

  • Provided update on CONTRIB-3, legal and technical aspects. ETA for Open Sourcing: End of May

  • The group was asked: should we wait for all bugs to be fixed (potential ETA 2 months)?
    Consensus was to open source, with open bugs (and file them in Foundation Jira) and then fix them in the open source rather than waiting indefinitely.

  • The groups was asked how do we connect the Working Groups / Project Committer levels? The creation of a JIRA project (for managing backlog), plus having @Gareth Davies in the Working Groups are two tactical solution.

Minuet QA

Symphony/GS

  • No one from Symphony or GS was on the line

  • Big question is: does the current Minuet code contain unacceptable licenses? (see Project quality requirements

10 mins

Focus on container interoperability APIs. Do we split in two sub-working groups?

@Former user (Deleted)

Suggestion for the group was to wait for the likely situation that OpenFin joins the Foundation, then add them to the working group and let the group decide the best way to pursue both WG charter objectives (Minuet open source stewardship and container interoperability APIs)

  • @Former user (Deleted) mentioned that, regardless of OpenFin joining the Foundation, if Minuet is released as an independent product, that already requires for a layer of public API for containers interaction, so that Symphony and Minuet can evolve independently without breaking the integration

  • @Former user (Deleted) mentioned we could look at the relationship between Atom / Electron to mimic how Symphony and Minuet can work together

Discussion about OpenFin potentially joining the Foundation

@Former user (Deleted)

OpenFin wants to move forward with joining the Foundation. They will speak at the 2016 Members Meeting to explain why. Onboarding planned after the 2016/05/18 BOD meeting.

Action items

@Former user (Deleted): Create JIRA project for Minuet once open sourced
GS/Symphony: Answer whether Minuet contains unacceptable / Category x licenses, as per Project quality requirements
GS/Symphony: Provide an update on ICLA / CCLA
@Former user (Deleted): Provide an update on Minuet open sourcing progress
