Some of our members have notified us that someone - from their firm - can receive and send emails from/to FINOS mailing-lists, while others can’t.

We have investigated this further, by creating an odp-test@finos.org mailing-list, invite all interested people and debugged the issue, with the help of Google Groups Support (who’ve been extremely supportive).

After analysing logs and results, below I'm reporting the answer from Google Groups Support, which suggests that it's the firm's internal policies within their Google Suite installation that is enforcing these settings, and Google Support does not have visibility nor accessibility to those.

From Google Support:

— 1. We consulted with our support engineers and the data shared is that what you are seeing is expected behavior because of the user status in there G Suite account. Ex. Users can be active,  suspended, disabled etc. [Note: this is in G Suite, not any other email service provider]. Now, since these users are external, for privacy and security purposes we cannot disclose the user's status in G Suite for another domain and thus, it would be best to advise the Super Admins of the affected domains to contact G Suite support for clarification and resolution as the issue is not pertinent to your domain, these users will reflect the same in any Google Group independent of the organization.

—  2. Now, as you confirmed that they got the email, this is good news as it is a front end issue, web UI display per the users in G Suite status; point 1. I presume they got the email not in a Gmail account but another service provider, please confirm as I presume this is the case and this is why they can receive email. Ex. they don't use G Suite for email delivery but have a G Suite account for the user etc.
