Open Discussion

Opportunity for participants to raise and discuss issues they've encountered since the last "office hours" meeting.

All

Question re: status of the License Compliance Guide and whether better tools would be made available for searching/referencing individual licenses. Aaron said that FINOS was aiming to publish at the end of February and that a table of contents would be added to the document but search tools would likely have to come after v1 was released.

Question re: process to contribute an existing product/innersource project to the Foundation. Aaron: we try to keep it lightweight. We will do the compliance audit and raise issues that we'll need your developers' help with, and we'll need assistance moving the repository to the FINOS GitHub, but beyond that, most of the work is on your side.

Open Source Compliance Training

Review & discussion of the OpenChain Project's Reference Training Program (pdf, pptx) for corporate open source compliance programs.

@Aaron Williamson

Aaron asked about existing training procedures and the participants discussed what they were doing and what they had planned. Aaron presented an overview of the OpenChain Curriculum and the participants discussed the materials and ideas for supplementary materials.
