LEI Coverage in the Bloomberg and Reuters Issuer feed

All

  • Of 5m entities included in a specific Bloomberg file about 1.35 million have an LEI code (it's necessary to exclude some entires that aren't relevant, e.g. have not issued securities, are no longer active)

  • Highest coverage is in Europe, as expected

  • Reuters has an issuer flag and about 1/3 of those flagged have an LEI code

Next Steps on the Issuer Linking -

  1. Approach to use LEI Codes

  2. Open symbology - Open Corporates

All

  • LEI lists a number of sites that can generate LEI codes. Sailesh will reach out to gmeiutility.org to understand the process for adding entities.

  • Agreed LEI seems a better approach than Open Corporates at this stage

AOB & adjourn

Regarding the discussion on agency bonds, Sailesh proposed waiting to progress until there was significant interest from the group. Information on the current thoughts can be found in the roadmap and Sailesh will share a brief summary that can be used to solicit interest.
