    • identifies entities
    • LOU policies
  • Hierarchy presents challenges to identifier providers, including and especially establishing relationships
  • FIGI:
    • standard owned Objects Mgmt Group, who is (1) registration agent & (2) certified provider
    • is a methodology, not an identifier
    • primary key database
    • not a replacement for current identifiers
    • used by: see facilitators, but Bloomberg does not track the API so there's probably a lot more people using it.
